We’re not picky, but if you would like your image to appear on our map we will need a location, many phone photo applications geotag your image with the location. Coordinates are best, but a street address or even your best guess is fine. If you don’t know the location send your image anyways and we’ll record it in the miscellaneous section of the archive.
We also try to document any additional information in the notes section of the archive. If you have any insider knowledge please let us know!
As soon as possible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we try out best, but we are a small team of enthusiasts and looking through photos and adding them to the archive takes time. It might be right away or it could take a little while.

Absolutely, we would love to acknowledge your contribution by adding your name to our publicly visible contributors list and by crediting you if we feature your image on our social media pages. Please provide your name, social handle and/or pseudonym if you would like to be credited, otherwise we will assume that you prefer to contribute anonymously.
Generally any images you capture from public property such as the sidewalk are generally free game, but please pay attention to local laws and guidelines when it come to street photography. Please try your best to avoid capturing photographs of individuals with out consent, these images will be cropped to remove people or will not be included in the archive.
That’s fine, we love images from different angles and perspectives and do our best to organize and consolidate imagery. If you notice a duplicate on the website please let us know by clicking the contribute button and noting the index number of the duplicates.

There are over 12,000 miles of sidewalk in New York City (where we’re based), over 10,000 in London, 7,500 in Mexico City, nearly 2,000 in Paris, 1,500 in Rome and so on, we don’t have time, money, or the shoe budget to walk all of it. We would love to document grotesques from all around the world, so please consider your own photos with us, we’ll give you credit (if you want it)!
